Captain Scott’s Diary
Captain Scott’s went on an expedition to the South Pole, he wrote this piece of text which is in the form of a diary knowing he would not return from this expedition alive. He wrote all of his experiences and troubles so that his audience would be able to see his expedition from his point of view because he knew he wouldn’t be alive to tell them himself. He wrote his experiences in the form of a diary because he wanted to break down all of his experiences so his audience would enjoy reading through experiences however also they would see what he did from day to day.
His diary was written in the purpose to inform his audience and in a slight way also entertain them because he was writing about his journey through the south pole and his surroundings and this would entertain his audience who may also want to follow in his footsteps and set off on an expedition to the South Pole.
His audience who he aimed to set this towards in my opinion would journalists who would want to read about his expedition, someone else would be of news reporters who would want to maybe report this and finally adventurous people who may also want to follow his expedition.
